Hello everybody! Take a look at my new earrings created for the monthly challenge “We’re All Ears” hosted on the blog: Earrings Everyday. You can read all about it HERE.
This month’s inspiration was the installation art by Gabriel Dawe. This contemporary, geometrical, and abstract composition is absolutely stunning. And what a unique idea to use the sewing thread for the piece of art. At once, I thought of creating something geometrical, and mimic the “strings” adding some embroidery floss.
But, it turned out that I don’t have anything remotely geometrical in my jewelry stash. What a bummer… I had no choice, but to make my own components from scratch. Maybe it’s for the best. I dusted off my jeweler’s saw, and I practiced my sawing, and drilling skills as well :). I did find the cylinder shaped beads which complete the design. In the end, everything has come into place. Now I own a brand new pair of earrings which I’m going to wear to a contemporary museum in Houston :).
Thank you for visiting and commenting. Yours, Oksana.
Gabriel Dawe.

What an absolutely perfect interpretation of this contemporary art, Miss Oksana! I love the strings and the placement of each strand. And the tubes remind me of the spindles on the railings. Thanks for playing along with me in the We're All Ears challenge! Enjoy the day. Erin
